It's our 5 year Canadaversary today!
On January 29, 2008 we landed in Vancouver and the adventure began!
It's been a great 5 years, and here are a few highlights:
When we first came to Merritt, we had to take a little hike up to the flagpole to check out our new hometown.
We rented a cozy little house.
Our kids were really little...
And we bought a 1997 Chevy Lumina Minivan as our first car! The thing was a total pimp-mobile and lasted only three months...
Soon we started exploring the area and found our favourite spot at Kentucky Lake.
We also went to our first Rodeo.
And after just 9 months in Canada we bought our first house...
... where we celebrated our first Christmas...
...and found out what -35°C actually feels like.
After that it all went pretty fast. The kids kept growing...
...and growing...
...and growing...
...and then they grew some more.
We also did lots of fun things. We saw some awesome places...
...we bought a motorhome and named it after my mom...
...we went to Vancouver a few times...
...and to Vegas (and we will again in March - Vegas, baby!).
But every time we go away, we're always happy to come back to the Nicola Valley - home sweet home.
So - here we are, 5 years later. Loving every minute of it!
