Goodbye, Gerdi

Last weekend we said goodbye to our motorhome Gerdi. She was our (mostly) reliable camping companion for the last three years, and while we were sad to see her go, we are excited for a new chapter in Auer travels.

This year we're planning on taking some road trips in our new truck, to places we've never been before. First trip coming up: to Victoria, BC - we just booked our hotel and ferry this morning and we're excited!

We made a lot of good memories with Gerdi - here are a few...

Can you believe how little those kids were three years ago? And how big they are now???

We went to some pretty awesome places...

And when I said earlier that Gerdi was mostly reliable, I was talking about this one time - on the way home from Lac Le Jeune - when she wasn't... let's just say it takes an even bigger truck to tow a big motorhome...

Gerdi recovered fast - with the help of a new oil pump - and we went on new adventures. We had some pretty awesome campfires...

... camping breakfasts ...

... and beachside adventures.

In July 2013 we welcomed another addition to the family - our dog Jacob. Him and Gerdi hit it off famously and even though he will probably never be a waterdog, he had some good times camping with the old girl.
