Is it really already the end of February? What happened? I guess time flies when you're busy making new experiences...
In February, the whole family embraced our resolution to experience new things in 2014. As a family, we started year #7 in Canada and we also did this:
A few days ago, someone who has a board exclusively for Bundt Cakes followed me on Pinterest. While I don't know yet whether to find that cool or creepy, I have decided that I need to share my recipe for a very special bundt cake with you - the tipsy egg-liquor bundt cake.
This cake might be better suited for baking alone or with older kids (who can resist licking the spoon), unless you want to sedate the little ones with 17.2% alcohol...
Last week I wrote a Fucket List and one of the items on that list was "I won't stop embarrassing my kids".
My friend Arnebya - who is spectacularly funny and witty and an absolute inspiration - commented that this rule is actually part of the parenting bylaws:
I woke up this morning at 6 am, and for once everyone - including the dog - was still sleeping. I got up, stretched and went into the bathroom. I sat down on the side of the bathtub, wondered for a minute what I should do with those precious minutes and decided on cutting my fingernails.
While I was cutting and filing away I realized that I was actually pleased with myself for doing something useful and not wasting time. Wait, what????
*During my meeting with a client to discuss Facebook strategy for the week*
Me: "What do you want to advertise for the Deal of the Week?"
Client 1: "What about those buckets over there? We could do a deal on them and ask our fans if they already made a buckets list for this year...?"
Client 2: "Did you just say Fucket List?"
Me: "OMG, I am so blogging about this!"
(I know, I have the best meetings)
Instead of posting a picture for #throwbackthursday, I decided to write a whole post about it (Contain your excitement, will you please? Sheesh).
I was digging through my box of pictures, which is one of the few things I decided to bring to Canada when we moved here 6 years ago. There are many treasures in that box, but it's actually missing a few things to complete the picture that is my life (<--- see what I did there?).
I got rid of allthepictures that had my first husband in them (Not PJ's dad; he was my second husband. Yes, Roland is husband #3 - shocking, I know. Whatevs) and I also got rid of allthepictures that had my parents or my sister in them. That one is a long story; what I'm trying to say is that along with the pictures that are no longer there, a few memories have disappeared as well.
Some good memories have disappeared, so I was very excited to find an envelope filled with pictures of a trip to Moscow in 1988.
